Iron and Steel

MPP produces components from a wide variety of P/M iron and steel alloys, which are generally known as ferrous P/M alloys. These include admixed elemental ferrous alloys, diffusion alloyed steels, pre-alloyed low alloy steels, stainless steels, and tool steels.

  • Admixed, Elemental Ferrous Alloys – Used for soft magnetic and low strength structural applications, and for structural and/or soft magnetic applications.

  • Diffusion Alloyed Steels – Offer the benefits of a soft iron (Fe) core, for compressibility, and are typically used in medium to high strength structural applications.

  • Prealloyed Low Alloy Steels – Used in high strength structural applications.

  • Stainless Steels – Offer high corrosion resistance.

  • Tool Steels — Highly recommended for compressively loaded wear applications, offering excellent wear resistance.
