MPP employs a wide variety of sophisticated equipment and instrumentation in its mission to develop new materials, advanced compaction and sintering techniques, and proprietary products and processes.

 

MPP’s Technology Center utilizes equipment such as this Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to check critical part dimensions on prototypes. The Tech Center performs applied R & D in support of MPP’s customers and plants.

 

Components are tested for tensile strength on this tensile testing machine – one of many instruments utilized by MPP – whose capabilities include metallography, macro- and micro-hardness testing, instrumented impact testing, compressive strength testing, and wear testing.

 

MPP uses digital microphotography to analyze the microstructure of various P/M materials. Capabilities such as microstructure analysis enable us to develop innovative P/M materials, including a wide variety of custom alloys, high-temperature materials, and soft magnetic materials.

 

MPP design engineers use state-of-the –practice, computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools to assist customers in component design. By using CAE technology, we’re able to work in concert with our customers’ product design activity, significantly reducing overall design-through-manufacturing cycle times.
